Barkan Pinotage is a tribute to the variety originally developed in South Africa, which combines the delicate aromas of two outstanding grapes native to France: Pinot Noir and Cinsault. Barkan Cellars has been working with this variety for several years, and is proud to introduce this version of the wine into their Classic series. Barkan Pinotage has a deep garnet color with an intense ripe plum/strawberry aroma. The wine is well structured with rounded tannins balanced by a pleasant tartness. Barkan Pinotage pairs well with grilled meats or ripe cheese such as cheddar.
